ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision)
ICD-10 is split into two systems for use in the U.S.:
- ICD-10-CM: Clinical Modification codes (3 to 7 characters) are used by all healthcare settings to report a patient's diseases, injuries, signs, and symptoms (e.g., diagnosis of pneumonia or a broken arm).
- ICD-10-PCS: Procedure Coding System codes (7 alphanumeric characters) are used only in inpatient hospital settings to report procedures performed (e.g., removing a tumor).

HCPT (HCPCS Version of Current Procedural Terminology).HCPT is another name for the HCPCS Level I set.
